aragonite

Usage

aragonite: yes

Hierarchy

aragonite

Default Value

No

Special Rules

To enable Aragonite runtime for a LookML project, the LookML New Runtime (Aragonite) Labs feature must be turned on for the Looker instance.

Definition

The Aragonite runtime provides faster LookML validation and content validation, more performant loading of Explores and dashboards, and faster SQL query writing, among other performance improvements.

If your Looker instance is enabled for the LookML New Runtime (Aragonite) Labs feature, you can turn on the Aragonite runtime for a LookML project by adding the aragonite: yes statement to the project’s manifest file:

aragonite: yes

If your project does not have a manifest file, you can create one using the Looker IDE.

When Aragonite is enabled for a project, LookML validation may return a greater number of errors for the project. This is because Aragonite allows for improved validation capabilities, which means that previously overlooked errors may surface.

If the LookML New Runtime (Aragonite) Labs feature is disabled, all LookML projects on the instance will revert to the legacy runtime, even if the projects have the aragonite: yes statement in their manifest files.
